How Ocean Coons became a thing
It all started when my youngest came up to me and showed me all of these beautiful big cats saying, "Mom! lets get one!" I was always a cat lady but it was only with domestic cats. But, I thought to myself, maybe I do want a majestic cat like the ones she showed me haha. So we went online and started our search to get a kitten. We looked a lot (certainly finding scams along the way!) but then a couple weeks into looking, my youngest looked to me and said, "What if we were to breed them?" At first I thought she was a bit crazy, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought we could maybe do it. I talked to my husband and my other son and daughter about the thought of breeding and they thought it was a good idea! Then my daughter and I began researching all about Maine Coons. All the vaccinations and tests that we had to do. I finally had looked at a course for breeding and took it. And soon, we made it to three beautiful cats with a registered cattery. Everyday I thank God for how far I've come with my life and for our kittens.

About Maine Coons
Said to be dog-like in disposition, laid-back and self-assured, these cats tend to take everything in stride and are great playmates for gentle children. They can usually coexist peacefully with other household pets, including other cats and cat-friendly dogs.
One of the most popular pedigreed cat breeds in the United States and the world, the Maine Coon cat is friendly, kind, and steady in temperament, which makes them wonderful companions. These cats are also quite trainable and sociable, and many have been certified as therapy cats, visiting with people in hospitals and senior care facilities. Maine Coons are affectionate and want to be close to you, but they are not overly clingy and generally aren't lap cats. They can be entertaining to watch as they engage in silly antics, and they tend to get into everything.
